Finding Audrey
By - Sophie Kinsella
Published - May 3, 2016
Synopsis
Audrey
wears dark glasses all the time, even in the house. She almost never goes out,
doesn’t talk to new people, and finds making eye contact to be nearly
impossible.
But then one day she meets Linus. Linus is her brother’s friend and a sensitive spirit with whom she can talk through her fears. He makes her laugh and doesn’t leave her feeling like she’s being judged. As their friendship deepens, Audrey’s recovery gains momentum, and she and Linus begin to develop feelings for each other. But how can they have a future together when Audrey hasn’t dealt with her past? And how could anyone ever love her once they’ve seen her at her worst?

My Review
So, it took me a little while to get through this book. The first few chapters, in my opinion, weren't as exciting as i would have wanted them to be, but please have patience. The book does a complete turn around.
This is actually one of the best mental illness young adult book I’ve ever read.
Audrey’s journey through social anxiety and depression is amazing. Her story is amazing. While reading this and thinking back on high school. I remembered how cruel kids were and how bullying was so normalized back in our day. Not to mention diagnoses were frowned upon and ways to help us with the feelings we were going through like Audrey in the proper way were unavailable.
I do love how this book ended up with a positive love story twist. This is a book i highly recommend to all teenagers, young adults and even adults. We can all learn something from this amazing read. As well as see someone else's perspective on being bullied and dealing with mental illness.
